What is Plasma IQ?

How does Plasma IQ treatment work?
Shannon applies a topical anesthetic cream over the treatment area before your Plasma IQ session. You may notice some slight stinging during the treatment.
The Plasma IQ device ionizes nitrogen gas above your skin surface, creating a plasma arc. The arc causes sublimation — controlled microscopic injuries — within the uppermost layers of your skin while preventing injury in the skin around it. These controlled micro-injuries stimulate the body’s injury response, encouraging skin tightening and collagen stimulation.
In addition, the plasma energy enters the dermis, the skin’s deepest layer, which is where bundles of collagen and elastin fibers are located. Collagen is the natural protein that helps to plump the skin and keep it firm, while elastin maintains your skin’s elasticity and tightness. Plasma IQ treatments cause the fibroblasts located in the dermis to create new collagen production, creating more youthful, rejuvenated, and tightened skin.
How long is recovery after Plasma IQ treatment?
The body quickly forms tiny scabs, or carbon crusts, after Plasma IQ treatments. These scabs will fall off in about a week, revealing renewed, smoother skin. Patients often prefer to have a week of social downtime as they heal. Overall, the recovery is much faster than with other ablative laser treatments or surgery.
How many Plasma IQ treatments will I need?
Patients will see results after one treatment, depending on the results they are trying to achieve. In some cases, patients will require two or three treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. If you need more than one treatment, you’ll have six-week intervals between appointments.
